Have a blessed Ramadan to all those observing the Holy month! We’ve put together a guide to the best buffets and Iftar dinners in the city, from Japanese-inspired family course meals to the exquisite ‘Royal Cuisine of Pahang’ featuring recipes from The Queen of Malaysia’s cookbook ‘Air Tangan Tengku Puan Pahang Masakan Tradisional Pahang’. Also make a date to support the art scene with The Actors Studio and Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) as they put on a very special fundraising show with the aid of Bernard Goh and Hands Percussion. Indeed, this week continues to be a treat for the ears with two contrasting musical acts and finally, a coffee workshop to fuel your morning.
To say that The Actor’s Studio has had it easy since its start in 1989, would be an understatement. Founders Joe and Faridah are inviting all to celebrate the studio’s 30th anniversary with “For the Love of…”, which honours duo’s unbridled passion for the arts and their lifelong dedication to the cause. The fundraiser show, which also comes in time for the Kuala Lumpur 14th birthday, was made possible by the graciousness of their good friend Bernard Goh, Founder of Hands Percussion. All proceeds will be channeled to KLPAV and The Actors Studio.

Coffee is an art, and anyone who tells you otherwise could probably use with a spot at this intimate workshop. Cupping is what you call the method, techniques, and ways of tasting coffee to appreciate its essence. Expect to familiarise yourself with different variations of coffee and even receive a voucher for your morning fix. Each workshop is kept small with just spots for just eight people so if you’ve missed the boat this time around, nab a seat for the next one.
