It’s the last week of June, so before we can officially declare that half a year has gone by too fast, a number of exciting experiences await. Whether its storytelling, taking part in an immersive musical or indulging in good food (Thai cuisine, to be exact), this week is looking good.
Step into 1867, Penang; right into Hokkien high life and gang riots. In this immersive three-act musical, the audience is invited to come dressed in traditional wear and absorb the sounds, smells, and tastes — the last of which comes from delicious 'kuih'! Ola Bola’s Melissa Ong stars in the play, joined by the likes of KLPAC’s Norm & Ahmed’s Phraveen Arikiah and Singaporean-based award winning theatre and TV actress Cheryl Tan, while written and directed by Shafeeq Shajahan.
Three rotating menus have specially been curated and prepared by Guest Chefs Weerapong Pleakha and Phatthira Phuengthin of Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort, Thailand. Available at Latest Recipe, highlights include Massaman Nua’ (braised beef cheek in Massaman curry) and ‘Haw Mok Thalay’ (southern style seafood curry soufflé in banana leaf).

Want (or need) to relax but finding it hard to find peace? Sound baths are known to clear space in your mind for stillness, working with sounds of the gong to create high vibrational frequencies. The waves of energy connect with the body on a cellular level and can help to open up body’s chakras. Literally, it’s bathing the body in sound where some experience a sensation of floating in space or an ocean, while others may even have visions or see colours. Or you may experience a deep sleep and maybe that’s just what you need. Pre-booking is essential.
The event starts at 8.35pm.
