The annual Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list this year features 300 dynamic young entrepreneurs – 30 in each of the 10 categories – who have pushed the boundaries of innovation with ground-breaking achievements. The diverse list includes over 30 nationalities (including young expats who have flocked to the region) and 24 countries in total, such as China, India, Southeast Asia, Australia, Uzbekistan and Bhutan.
This year, the list pays homage to women and includes two successful Malaysian entrepreneurs who have empowered others with their immense success. These two women have risen to the challenge and are shattering glass ceilings and stereotypes about Muslim women.
Actress and TV host Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor, or better known as Neelofa, was honoured under the Retail and E-Commerce category for her highly successful Neelofar hijab line which is now sold in 38 countries. The founder of NH Prima International credits a huge part of her success to entering the market at the right time.
Another successful entrepreneur on the list is none other than Vivy Yusof, who has built the Fashion Valet empire to stock more than 400 brands from across the region, championing talented local designers. The co-founder of the e-commerce site has also launched The dUCk Group, featuring her own brand of premium scarves and accessories.
Malaysia’s very own fashion icon Professor Datuk Jimmy Choo and award-winning singer songwriter Yuna were invited to be on the judging panel for this year’s list.
