Never underestimate the power of your network. Siew Yuen Tuck, co-founder and CEO of Jirnexu, reveals that he’d met fellow co-founder Liew Ooi Hann thanks to an introduction via a mutual friend. “We worked together as partners for about a year. It got to the point that we were working so closely together that we felt it made sense to merge the businesses (Hann was then with SaveMoney),” Yuen Tuck says. “We were seeing really strong synergies between the founders and the businesses.”

Jirnexu’s role in aiding financial institutions digitise their products and services is one that cannot be understated. “We put the consumer first and use technology to solve problems consumers have in accessing financial products,” Yuen Tuck says, adding that they’d even built their very own digital application solution for banking products, and online quote and purchase products for insurance products. “Now we are using Experian’s (one of the world’s biggest credit scoring and data companies that invested in Jirnexu in 2018) technology to help customers increase their approval rates for banking products,” he notes. 

Despite Jirnexu’s rapid growth over the years, Yuen Tuck explains that his vision has never faltered. “I want to enable consumers to access the best personal financial services, anytime, anywhere,” he highlights. “I want our consumer brands such as RinggitPlus to be the only brand consumers need for their personal finances.”
