On April 30, Absolut Vodka’s Absolut Elyx was officially launched with a party at Tazmania Ballroom. After Pernod-Ricard Hong Kong managing director Xavier Beysecker explained the inspiration behind the name – “lyx” means luxury in Swedish – Absolut Vodka’s Global Brand Ambassador Matt Pomeroy took to the stage for a toast with Pierre Coppéré, the company’s chairman and chief executive for Asia. An aerial dance performance then wowed the crowd, which was followed in true Tazmania style by a pool tournament, open to all guests. Eventual winner Mark Hsu came out on top and took home a 1.5 litre bottle of Absolut Elyx, as well as a special Absolut Elyx copper pool set. Among those joining in the fun were Sabrina Ho, Gilbert Yeung, Karena Ng, Ana R, Carl Ng, Charlotte Chen, Harris Chan and Kennis Tai.
