Borneo’s Tree of Life Exhibition is intended to birth a deeper appreciation for nature, from the indoors.
Have you spent the last year missing nature, or realised a longing for the great outdoors? Trust the keen eye of photographer Chien C. Lee to capture the beauty of nature, no less than the rainforests of Borneo. And you don’t have to go further than Bukit Bintang for right now.
Chien is a biologist turned photographer, and avid naturalist, with an interest in Borneo’s rainforest. His photographs have been published internationally, by the National Geographic, Smithsonian, and BBC.
GMBB is proud to exhibit Chien’s 15 years of work discovering new and lost species of flora and fauna. His photographs covey the diversity of the island’s rainforests but also its connectivity and fragility.
These works are accompanied by fascinating stories behind each photo, with sounds from the rainforests recorded by Chien himself. The sights and sounds are further complemented with a scent produced by GMBB’s official scent partner, Malaysian perfumers OLFAC3.
Borneo’s Tree of Life Exhibition is held at Level 3, GMBB Kuala Lumpur from 1 January to 30 June 2021. The exhibition is open daily from 11am to 6pm. Entry is free for all.
COVID-19 SOP update from GMBB: We will adhere to a strict standard operating procedure (SOP) to ensure the safety of all visitors. The exhibition space will be sanitized regularly and we will be limiting the numbers of visitors at a time so rest assured when you visit us.
