The founder of Malaysian jeweller brand Wanderlust + Co, Jenn Low, is one lucky girl. Her brand began in 2009 while the Seremban-born, entrepreneur-in-the-making, was still a student in Melbourne, Australia. Who would’ve thought that Wanderlust + Co would grow into the worldwide success it has become today?
Just recently, Jessica Alba gushed about the brand on social media, but it wouldn’t be the first time an international celebrity has fallen in love with it. You can count Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, and Kendall Jenner fans too.
Ask Jenn the secret to her success and she’ll tell you that it isn’t just luck, it’s carving out your own possibilities, in every aspect of life. “You have to be super resilient, and be prepared for the unexpected,” she says.
When the pandemic hit last year, managing her team as they worked from home, let alone ensuring her business didn’t just stay afloat but thrived, were not the only major things happening in Jenn’s life. On Instagram, she has shared openly and honestly about her son Oscar’s health problems, who turns two in April, and spending months in and out of the hospital with him.
All in, she tells us, it was a challenging year both personally and professionally.
2021 has thankfully brought some positive changes, and even a new collection for Wanderlust + Co. Called ‘Golden’, the Spring/Summer 2021 collection honours women and all the challenges they’ve faced.
“Ironically, for me, the way I found inspiration was to recharge and to take time out,” Jenn shares. “When you stop grinding for the sake of grinding, and hustling for the sake of hustling, we feed our soul, we nourish our mind, and we come back more refreshed and ready to take on whatever else.”
Jenn says she’s excited about the reopening of the brand’s store, giving Prestige a tour around the intimate space, pointing out inspiring quotes around the store — an Insta-famous one: “See the world through your eyes” on a large mirror with clouds.
On an afternoon spent with Jenn, we got to see the world through her eyes. Jenn drives the latest Mercedes-Benz GLB 200, the versatile compact SUV with a flexible space concept, and speaks candidly about life as a mum and business owner.
