Nasdaq-listed Baidu is China’s largest online search company — and Li, 46, is making sure it remains in the top spot. He has not only bolstered its wireless business but is also developing voice and image recognition to improve searches. The entrepreneur’s other businesses include online food delivery, movie ticket booking, ride-sharing apps and self-driving cars. Li has announced that he will invest 20 billion yuan over the next three years in online-to-offline services, including group-buying service Nuomi. He has also proposed that the country start a state-level “China Brain” project to develop artificial intelligence.
