Hur Young-In

Hur, 66, started Paris Baguette in 1988, betting that South Koreans would take to Asian-style French pastries. The café and bakery chain now has over 3,000 stores in the country and around the globe. Hur also purchased his father’s former bakery company after it had gone bankrupt in 1998 after the Asian financial crisis. He revived it and then merged it with Paris Baguette to form the SPC Group — which also brought Dunkin’ Donuts, Baskin-Robbins and Jamba Juice to South Korea.
