For some, ushering in the new year, or indeed the new decade, could mean giving their homes a makeover borne out of necessity to replace worn- out fixtures or from an aesthetics’ point of view to slather on a new coat of paint. Just as modularity has made waves in building construction, customisation has stridden into home fixtures. Axor MyEdition is conceived with this idea to spruce up our homes – starting from the bathroom – effortlessly according to how you want to achieve a certain luxurious look.
Unveiled at Salone del Mobile, the influential home design convention, in Milan last year, Axor MyEdition pushes personalisation to the fore where the tap comprises two distinct parts – body and plate. The body performs the traditional function of delivering water, which in this case the brand’s signature PowderRain, while the plate is wholly devoted to style.
Axor MyEdition is available in four standard finishes – chrome with mirrored or black glass, satin black with black glass or brushed bronze, as well as customised to any of the 15 Axor FinishPlus PVD surfaces, such as polished gold optic and brushed black chrome. These exclusive colours are the results of a process of intensive development and finishing in PVD vacuum chambers. Beyond colours, materials such as metal, wood, marble and leather are also offered in Axor MyEdition, covering nearly all contemporary and luxurious needs. Whether it is a bath mixer, basin mixer or bath spout, with over 225 desirable design combinations of various elements and finishes, you are sorted wherever the Feng Shui trend dictates each year, or if you simply opt for a timeless bathroom.
Known for its innovative approach, Axor MyEdition is the brand’s anniversary collection in partnership with Phoenix Design, winners of Red Dot Design Team 2018, celebrating its 25th year since its inception last year. Among the technologies incorporated into Axor MyEdition is PowderRain, a spray type introduced by the brand in 2017 seeking to emulate the suppleness and the enveloping feeling of a downpour.
“Making a personal statement through customised interiors is the essence of luxury. With Axor MyEdition, we have set the stage for personal creativity. Colours, materials and patterns create the point of departure for a unique and personalised tap,” says Andreas Diefenbach, managing partner of Phoenix Design.
Nearly silent, droplets of PowderRain are delivered to caress and moisten the skin without bouncing off. It is through this integral approach that Axor MyEdition heralds a new chapter in function, luxury, beauty and personalisation into the home.
