In conjunction with this season of spreading goodwill, Montblanc has decided to reach out to five creatives from all corners of the globe to help them fulfil their greatest wish while inspiring others to pursue their own personal ambitions. From the capital cities of Tuscany and the UK, to the remote mountains that reside in Kyrgyzstan, here’s all you need to know about these incredible individuals that have been selected to be part of Montblanc’s #whatsyourlist campaign:
David Paul Kay
Known for his intricate black and white creations that have been showcased in the United States, Paris and Dubai, the New York-based visual artist was invited to visit the luxury Maison’s headquarters in Hamburg to create his very own special shade of red that would be used for his first ever colourful masterpiece. The result was an interactive triptych titled “R3solutions” that invites onlookers to be part of the artwork by writing in their own wishes for the future.
Caroline Issa
Issa has always wanted to learn calligraphy so that she can imbue notes to friends and loved ones with a piece of her. Under the guidance of a professional calligrapher, the worldly Fashion Director for independent UK-based magazine TANK was able to use Montblanc’s great range of hand- crafted writing instruments to make her own Christmas correspondence to her loved ones this year extra memorable.
Giotto Calendoli
The Milan-based Creative Designer behind Handle with Freedom has always drawn inspiration from his colourful family history. Inspired by the idea of uniting the past with the freedom of the present, Calendoli decided to pay a visit to talented artisans at the Maison’s Pelleteria in Florence to observe how they manage to combine modern computer technology with traditional leather craftsmanship to create a bespoke Sfumato Pocket Holder.
Max Muench
For landscape photographer Max Muench, the opportunity to capture on film the raw beauty of the remote Tian Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan was a dream come true. Accompanying him on this epic adventure was the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere, a watch designed with globe-trotting adventurers in mind which features not just a world time display but also sub-dial at nine o’clock that enables the wearer to keep track of an additional time zone.
Eric Underwood
As a firm believer in the power of self-expression through dance, British ballet dancer Eric Underwood has decided to use this opportunity to share his passion with the next generation by conducting a special workshop at the London Fields Primary School. Inspired by their stories which were written using writing instruments from the whimsical Montblanc Le Petit Prince collection, Fields encouraged the participants to come up with their own unique dance performance to help them express their limitless creativity.
