As far as luxury sports cars go, it’s pretty much a universally accepted fact that Porsche has an undeniable edge when it comes to producing a range of high-performance, exquisitely designed automobiles. And that is precisely what they have achieved yet again with their latest version of the Porsche Macan, which was launched in Malaysia on 21 June. Presented by the country’s authorised Porsche importer and distributor Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), the car has already captured the interest of car enthusiasts. With good reason.
A stylish, compact SUV that combines sportiness, design and everyday practicality, the all-new Porsche Macan offers a powerful and intense driving experience that is sure to appeal to all your senses.
The silhouette of the Macan boasts a fun, zippy aesthetic that is perfectly suited to a sports car. The front end has been innovatively redesigned to make it appear wider. Advanced LED technology has been incorporated into the newly designed main headlights, while the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) option can be used to control light distribution adaptively. A three-dimensional LED light panel on the rear of the vehicle imparts a trendy touch. The brake lights with their four-point design are another excellent embodiment of the brand’s identity. Enhancing this modern, streamlined look are four eye-catching, exterior colours — mamba green metallic, dolomite silver metallic, Miami blue and crayon.
The driving dynamics of the new Porsche Macan have been enhanced to provide the ultimate experience in luxury, ease and power to the driver. With the help of an efficient 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, the car delivers a performance of 185 kW (252 hp) and has a maximum torque of 370 Nm. In combination with its seven-gear PDK dual-clutch gearbox, the compact SUV can go from zero to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 225 km/h.
Moreover, the overhauled chassis makes the Macan even more enjoyable to drive. As is typical for a sports car, it comes with mixed-size tyres, enabling the driver to take full advantage of the benefits of the intelligent all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system. Newly developed tyres with improved performance characteristics allow for even better lateral dynamics.
And last but definitely not the least, the fully interconnected Porsche communication management system, with a 10.9-inch, full-HD touchscreen inside the vehicle, is sure to delight with features such as mobile phone preparation, two audio interfaces and intelligent voice control. And the user interface can be adapted to suit personal requirements.
The new Porsche Macan price starts from MYR455,000, inclusive of a four-year warranty and free maintenance package.
