Bonia’s “Objects of Desire” Spring 2021 collection speaks to style that honours tradition with welcomed modern twists.
Bonia is establishing itself as the brand for bags, and we couldn’t be more proud to show our love for the Malaysian label. Since its 2020 makeover, Bonia flaunts a ‘Neu B Logo’, debuting with the dreamy Neu Romantic collection. You’ll have seen the name Bonia and that unmistakable crisp, structured aesthetic the brand upholds more frequently since the collection, whether it’s the dainty Venice carried by local fashionistas, to the coveted Dravmo Yoga Mat with Holder.

Its Spring 2021 collection is a fine follow-up to Bonia’s recent winning streak in fashion and accessories. For inspiration, Bonia turned to everyday objects and tomes we treasure in these challenging times, reminding us of our rich history and sense of community. The collection views what’s classic through a modern lens, paving the way for “Objects of Desire”.

We can’t decide between two icons introduced in the collection. The first is a reimagined version of the 2002 Camilla, a versatile shoulder bag in monogram embossed pebble leather and available in electrifying colours. The Camilla has an adjustable strap that allows the bag to be worn as a short shoulder bag, mid-length sling back, and longer even as a crossbody. Bonus: the bag comes with an accompanying ‘baby Camilla’ bag.

The second icon is the Naiara bag with quilted detailing inspired by Peranakan tiles seen in homes and shops in Nyonya communities. Often hand-painted, these tiles influence the Naiara’s quilted faux leather with lambskin hand-feel. The bag has a multi-detachable strap and additionally for a shorter carry, a golden chain. Colours for this design come in earth-tuned, easy-to-wear hues.
