With interstate borders opening up and amazing weather on the east coast, Malaysians are enjoying the feeling of sun, sand, and the sea locally. Once you’ve got your travel plans in order, get excited over your packing list when it’s got the cutest pieces from these well-loved Malaysian swimwear brands:
Jane Fong began Malibu Beachwear in 2011 while also running another online clothing brand, but it’s success made her decide to launch Malibu Beachwear as an independent brand. Initially, the brand carried pieces sourced from Thailand — literally speaking, Jane would hand-carry them home to Malaysia. These days, she gets to do what she’s passionate about most: designing high-quality pieces inspired by some of her own travels.
Ozero Swimwear was founded by Russian model Elena Cheurina who calls Malaysia her home. She uses performance fabrics from Italy as well as nylon materials regenerated from post-consumer material for her eco-line of swimwear. With years of experience and expertise in what feels and looks good on women as a model, Cheurina creates pieces with great fit and classic style.

A graduate of London College of Fashion & Central St Martins, Nikita Dowlani founded her brand around the concept of cheerful prints and bright colours. Incredibly, Nikita hand-draws all the prints herself before they are brought to life in the form of swimwear and ready-to-wear pieces .
Inspired by their love of travel and cute swimwear, La Bumba was founded in 2018 by two friends named Hannah Bhatt and Rufina Tan. The brand focuses on comfort and confidence for its #bumbabes with swimwear that’s diverse, including daring, cheeky cuts and classic shapes that never go out of style.
Founder Lissy Tari designs her own line which is then handmade in Bali. Bikini Tari has a signature style of braided straps in all its designs, also a handmade touch that makes the one-piece and bikini designs stand out from the market of mass produced swimwear.
