Marriott International has announced that 13 new luxury hotels and resorts will open in Asia-Pacific by the end of 2019, boosting the hospitality brand’s presence in the region. This expansion is comprised of four Ritz-Carlton branded properties, five hotels under the JW Marriott banner, three exciting debuts for The Luxury Collection and one St Regis launch.
The anticipated openings will mark their presence across 10 captivating countries and territories in Asia-Pacific, including The Ritz-Carlton, Perth in October and JW Marriott Marquis Shanghai Pudong in August (the first Marquis in Asia). Additionally, two Luxury Collection hotels are anticipated in Nanning, China and Kolkata, India later this year. With 130 luxury hotels under its portfolio currently, Marriott International aims to design these new offerings as transformative experiences bound to capture the imagination of the modern luxury traveller. Below is a quick roundup of the exciting developments that distinguished travellers can look forward to in the near future:
The Stellar Dining Series
For the second year in Asia Pacific, the Ritz-Carlton will host its renowned The Stellar Dining Series — the finest opportunity to savour spectacular new gourmet creations, and to participate in exclusive masterclasses. So, watch out for three Michelin-star chefs, mixologists and patissiers on a tour to Tokyo, Kyoto and Guangzhou through September and October.
Family by JW
This one is all about the family. Intended to engage children ages five to 12, the programme will curate adventures under three kid-friendly themes – creativity, activeness and culture. The brand will be officially launching the programme across Asia Pacific at the JW Marriott Hotel Phuket in July.
This service at the St Regis Hotels and Resorts will ensure you get assistance with packing and unpacking, garment pressing and more, even at unearthly hours through a simple email or text message. Additionally, in celebration of the opening of St Regis Hong Kong, designer Jason Wu will debut a special pyjama collection.
Marriott International also bolsters its presence in the region with enhanced benefits and exclusive experiences for Marriott Bonvoy members in the Asia Pacific region. Previously, members have enjoyed VIP treatment at the Hong Kong Sevens, the Art Central Hong Kong and were chauffeured to the F1 China Grand Prix by Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport driver, and Grand Prix Melbourne winner, Valtteri Bottas.
