Choices for luxury accommodations in Malaysia has widened exponentially over the past decade, and the latest brand to join the fray is Spanish hotel group AC Hotels. As a subsidiary of the world’s largest hotel chain Marriott International, this urban lifestyle brand boasts an international portfolio of remarkable properties worldwide.
Earlier this month, an agreement was signed between Marriott International and YTL Hotels to bring the AC Hotels brand to Malaysia via three of the latter’s existing properties located in Penang, Kuantan and Kuala Lumpur. Set to commence in December 2019, this landmark announcement also marks as the brand’s debut in Southeast Asia, with scheduled openings set to take place in Tokyo Ginza (2020) and Melbourne (2022).
“Malaysia has always warmly welcomed travellers from all over the world, and our visitor arrivals are set to grow and diversify in the coming years. We see potential in key business and leisure destinations across Malaysia including Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kuantan, and this is further underscored by the great relationship with YTL hotels,”
As for other future developments from Marriott International worth looking forward to, these include The Westin Desaru Coast Resort that presents breathtaking coastal views of the South China sea; the Four Points by Sheraton Chinatown located in Petaling Street’s vibrant Chinatown; and the Fairfield by Marriott Bintulu Paragon which is also the first hotel in Malaysia to officially carry the ‘Fairfield by Marriott’ stamp of approval.
