In the lighthearted, ever ongoing battle between Malaysia vs Singapore, we do have this one new thing in common: Cé La Vi. The club and lounge has long been a big attraction in Lion City. Perched atop the iconic Marina Bay Sands, you’ll find the best views of Singapore from here whilst you sip on a Singapore Sling (if you’re into the irony). Not to mention, it’s gotten even more popular after being featured in the last scene of Crazy Rich Asians.
Now, the award-winning brand marks its newest destination: Kuala Lumpur. Lap up the life of luxury from the 37th floor of Menara Ilham in Jalan Binjai, as you dine, dance, and drink. Cé La Vi Kuala Lumpur is designed and conceptualised to reflect the brand’s DNA, extending to Asian-inspired interior design, modern Asian cuisine and cocktail mixology, and an entertainment line-up of both local and international DJs.
To bring all that together in opulent fashion, the 1,150 square metre premise — that resembles what could very well be an over-the-top penthouse of a famous celebrity — comprises of a few different areas. The venue is rich in red tones and dim lighting, and on the outside, boasts views of the city skyline and the twin towers.
There’s a restaurant complete with a sushi and sashimi bar, and on the other end, a lounge and cigar bar for casual drinks and audible conversation. The Cé La Vi club is right outside and is equipped with a state-of-the-art audio-visual Madrix technology and Void sound system — it’s incredible how sound doesn’t travel past its walls.

In true Cé La Vi-style, the grand opening consisted of a two-day party, first with an exclusive preview for the haut monde, followed by the official launch in time for Friday night and the weekend. “We are thrilled to be able to share the Cé La Vi experience with Malaysia and look forward to providing guests of Cé La Vi Kuala Lumpur with the exciting multi-sensorial journey for which the brand is renowned,” said Modesto Marini, co-owner of the venue.
Cé La Vi Kuala Lumpur edition is a partnership between restaurateur and entrepreneur Modesto Marini, and L Catterton Asia, the Asian private equity business sponsored by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Marini is the owner and founder of The Marini’s Group, which is the parent company of iconic rooftop destination Marini’s on 57, luxury steakhouse Marble 8 and M Marini Grand Caffè & Terraza.
Cé La Vi’s rooftop locations to date include Hong Kong and Sri Lanka. The brand is also in the process of opening new establishments in Dubai, Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo.
