Nothing says love quite like a loaf of sourdough bread, like these bakeries in KL and PJ offering delivery services.
Dough-ting lovers of bread and pastries, we hear you. Nothing is quite as comforting as tucking into freshly baked carbs, whether sweet or savoury especially during these unprecedented times. These bakeries in KL and PJ that offer delivery services are the true stars, giving us a nice selection of staples from bread loaves and croissants to sweet treats including chocolate brioches, jam-filled doughnuts, the classic pain au chocolat, and more.
The key here is balance. There are days where you can attempt the low-carb life, but on the more difficult days, it doesn’t hurt to indulge. Now, get ordering.

For some of the widest variety of sourdough loaves in the Klang Valley, you’ll have to take a look at Universal Bakehouse’s menu. Among the sourdough options we’ve seen include pullman, country, apple, seeded, olive and walnut, honey oat, and cranberry and walnut sourdough loaves. Also worth trying out are the brioche, plain doughnuts, curry potato pasties, and more. Both pickup and deliveries are available, but you’re recommended to make a pre-order a day in advance so you don’t leave disappointed.

Dining in is unfortunately not allowed at the moment, otherwise visiting brand new cafe Get Baked would be a wonderful affair. Nonetheless, you can still try out some of the cafe’s pastry offerings, including flavoured croissants, sourdough, dinner rolls, focaccia, and more. If you don’t know which to pick, Get Baked also has a pastry box consisting of six pastries – one of each variety – so you can have a little bit of everything. There is a limited number of pastry boxes available in a day, so make a pre-order.

Also another bakery famous for its sourdough bread is Provisions — there’s a choice of wholemeal, rye, and walnut raisin sourdough. Other baked choices available include Japanese milkbread, flavoured buns (smoked duck, cinnamon, and chocolate), and cakes. These items are available for both pickup and delivery.

If you love bread, you’ll definitely be familiar with this iconic bakery in TTDI. Championing all types of German bread, Der Backmeister has also joined the pickup and delivery game during the pandemic, ensuring that you don’t have to illegally cross districts just to get your fill of all the good carbs.

This isn’t the first time we’re featuring Kenny Hills Bakers, and it won’t be the last. If you’re a regular at the original Bukit Tunku outlet (when it was still a tiny shop lot), you’d be familiar with the rows of freshly-baked pastries just lining the shelves. Every piece is good, and you can now have it delivered to you either from the Bukit Tunku outlet, Ampang, Desa Park City, or even Nourish by KHB outlet in Bukit Damansara.

This is yet another Instagrammable cafe we can’t visit during the MCO period, but it’s a good thing we can still get the sweet stuff like canelés, sweet brioches, and more. Make a pre-order via Whatsapp to ensure you can get your hands on exactly what you want, or just place an order via Beepit when the mood hits.

Two words: Nutella doughnuts. If you’re a fan of the chocolate spread (who isn’t?) then you’re going to want to snap these up as soon as Huckleberry announces it’s back in stock. There’s also a Nutella croissant available if you prefer something a little flakier. Otherwise, try the cafe’s other selection of pastries too, from regular croissants to flavoured ones, and then some more.

Accompany your meal with some rustic wood-fire baked sourdough bread from Smith Breadsmith & Cafe. Do call the outlet beforehand to check on the availability of bread before you place an order. Alternatively, you can also make a pre-order and reserve it ahead of time.

Your favourite cafe for croissants has also switched to pick-up and delivery during the MCO period. Our only problem would probably be picking out the croissant flavours. So many options, so little calorie allocation.

Skip the two-hour queues and pre-order your Doudoubake pastries a day in advance. You have until 4 PM daily to choose what items you’d like — from sourdough loaves to sourdough croissants, pain au chocolat, tarts, and more.

If you thought you only had the option of getting matcha drinks here, you’re wrong. Niko Neko Matcha also has a variety of pastries and cakes available to be delivered to those within a 9KM radius of its Chinatown outlet. We’d love for you to try the matcha sourdough croissant, and the different choux au craqulein pastries with matcha, houjicha, or genmaicha fillings.
