One less thing to decide on this season: where to bring the whole family for dinner.
Nobu Kuala Lumpur is known for its Omakase menus and now, Executive Chef Philip Leong is presenting two menus for Christmas and the New Year. These menus are available just a short period of time and feature ingredients unique to the recipes commonly used at Nobu Kuala Lumpur.
Expect less tradition and instead, come with an open mind (and empty stomach) for discovering a Christmas-cracker like explosion of flavours. The entree of Satenmori, for example, comes with an oyster and chopped Toro sprinkled with balsamic vinegar which is rarely used in Nobu’s creations. Other dishes include Nobu’s must-have sushi selection with Toro, Kye, Nama Taku, Anago and a delicious Ikura Sushi Cup. The star course is the Braised Wagyu Cheek that melts so smoothly with every bite. Dessert no doubt comes shaped as a Christmas tree; with green tea mousse, a surprising tofu Bavarian, and butterscotch sauce.
The Omakase menu comes with a side of Santa Claus for entertainment who will be there to spread joy and cheer as he hops from table to table.
Before you know it (or five days, to be exact), it’s a fond adieu to 2019 and hello to 2020. Nobu Kuala Lumpur will be ushering in a new with a 7-course menu, and as delicious as that Omakase experience promises to be, the prime views for fireworks alongside the Petronas Twin Towers are priceless. The menu comprising of dishes like Seared Lobster with Spicy Ponzu, Yacon and Cilantro Oil; and freshly made Steam Abalone with Kale Salad and Black Sesame Dressing, is jazzed up with gold flakes and caviar. Possibly Nobu Kuala Lumpur’s best dessert creation yet is the White Choc & Caramel Mousse, White Sponge and Pumpkin Ice Cream.
Guests are welcome to stay late into the evening for drinks and dancing with a live DJ set.
The Christmas menu is available from 21 to 25 December at MYR 560++, while the New Year menu is available from 28 December 2018 to 1 January 2020 at MYR 628++.
