How do I use a beauty blender?
Beauty blenders have become a makeup bag essential but learning exactly how to use them requires a few tips. As a rule, I tend to soak the beauty blender in water and squeeze it out before putting foundation onto the sponge. Apply to your face in soft bouncing motions.
The water stops the sponge from absorbing liquid makeup and the bouncing action helps to ensure an even, streak-free and dewy finish. My recommendations include Beautyblender The Original Makeup Sponge, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Precision Makeup Sponge and Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.
Help! My makeup is cakey. How do I fix it?
We’ve all been there. You tried a new product that morning, and by 5pm things are not looking too fabulous. First thing I would use is a face mist as it helps to refresh skin texture from an overly powdered or cakey makeup. Additionally, if you’re setting your makeup with a tinted powder, it’s worth trying a translucent loose powder instead.

I like the By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder as it reduces the cakey factor. Depending on your budget, my other recommendations include Tom Ford Hyaluronic Energizing Mist, Urban Decay Quick Fix Hydra Charged Complexion Prep Priming Spray, Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist, Supergoop’s Defense Refresh (Re)setting Mist SPF 40 and Hera Make Up Fixer.
Best make up remover for sensitive skin?
Never go to sleep with make-up on is an obvious adage as it is one of the most critical steps in skincare. Leaving cosmetics on overnight can cause breakouts and irritation. It’s the worst for sensitive skin.

When it comes to removing eye makeup in particular, I tend to prefer going at it slower. Apply your choice of product. Give it a couple minutes while you brush and floss. Do not rub, since friction can damage the delicate skin around your eyes, causing irritation and contributing to wrinkles. This will soften mascara, liner, shadow and lipstick for you to wipe off easily. My recommendations are Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water, Shu Uemura Botanicoil Indulging Plant-Based Cleansing Oil, Fancl MCO Mild Cleansing Oil and Nivea Micellair Rose Water.
