1.The Summerhouse

Imagine tying the knot in a charming edible garden, with tall magnificent trees framing the picture-perfect moment. This is the matrimonial picture The Summerhouse paints for couples. Situated near Seletar Airport, the restaurant was conceived as an idyllic summer retreat for diners. But for a wedding, it can be transformed into a romantic setting to match any theme, thanks to the luxury of space (the 45,000-sq-ft property can accommodate up to 600 guests).

Catering for both grand affairs and more intimate receptions, couples can choose to hold their wedding indoors for up to 250 guests, in the courtyard for 300 guests, or both. Floral decorations are also offered courtesy of its partnership with Poppy Flora Studio. Under the helm of Chef de Cuisine Florian Ridder, pastry chef Jasmin Chew and mixologist Yadhaven Santheran, the food and beverage menus are aptly nature-inspired and promise a gastronomic extravaganza.

2.Corner House

Nature is so much a part of Corner House — literally. Housed in a black-and-white bungalow at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, it is named for tropical botanist E J H Corner, who held the position of assistant director at the Unesco World Heritage site from 1929 to 1945. And being in the Botanic Gardens, Corner House is enshrouded in greenery.

So wherever in the quaint restaurant-home you are seated at, expect a panoramic view of the Gardens. Led by Chef Patron and Co-Owner Jason Tan, even its contemporary “Gastro-Botanica” cuisine gives equivalent attention to protein and botanical elements. His mastery over the kitchen and philosophy of giving tubers, roots, fungi, vines, fruits and herbs fuller elaborations saw Corner House land its first Michelin star last year. Suited for very intimate celebrations, its total seating capacity is at 68, with the main dining room able to accommodate up to 40 guests.

3.Nosh

Made up of three dining spots — The Greenhouse, Noshery and The Country Kitchen — Nosh is housed in a charming two-storey black-and-white bungalow in Rochester Park with an al fresco dining area that allows guests to truly commune with nature. But don’t worry about wet weather contingencies because the outdoor space is also completely sheltered.

Suitable for weddings of between 80 and 150 guests, the charming spot is one for close friends and family to gather for the once-in-a-lifetime occasion. To make planning a less stressful affair, Nosh has an in-house events team that provides decor services. While the wedding packages allow couples to choose between a four- or five-course menu, or a premium buffet spread, these can be customised to make the affair more personal for the couple and their guests. Add a dessert table to give guests something sweet to talk about for months to come, or toast to a new chapter in life with personalised His & Hers cocktails for the evening.

4.Pollen

The name of this fine dining spot alone implies how much nature has inspired its identity. Set within the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay — recognised as the word’s largest glass greenhouse by the 2015 Guinness World Records — Pollen is a Mediterranean restaurant encircled by exotic flowers and herbs in a climate- and temperature-controlled environment.

Comprising a main dining room and the more laidback Pollen Terrace, the entire restaurant is able to seat up to 120 persons. Under Executive Chef Steve Allen, who previously worked with culinary masters such as Gordon Ramsay, the menus prepared here showcase his gastronomic prowess that seek to tantalise the taste buds of all in attendance. It’d be remiss not to point out that guests can be treated to beautiful displays of foliage that will look just dandy for the photo albums.

5.Lewin Terrace

Tucked away in Fort Canning Park, this Japanese-French fine dining restaurant is one of Singapore’s most sought-after wedding venues. After all, Lewin Terrace is supported by Best Bridal Inc, a wedding service provider in Japan, and is a stone’s throw from the Registry of Marriages. Surrounded by lush foliage — although just a short walk from the Civic District — the restaurant is housed in a refurbished 110-year-old black-and-white bungalow that was once the former residence of the British chief for colonial Singapore’s Central Fire Station. This taste of history, coupled with its quaint verandas, makes for an idyllic setting. And thanks to its dedicated team of wedding planners, the 100-seater restaurant also ensures the little details are taken care of, assisting in the coordination of the event from the initial planning stages to the actual day, including gowns, photography and flowers.

The restaurant also has a dedicated bridal room for outfit changes, hair and make-up, or even a quick time-out from the day’s activities. Menus can be personalised to match the theme of the wedding or to suit the couple’s dietary preferences.

6.The Garage

The latest epicurean contender in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, The Garage positions itself as a restaurant for “anybody in love with nature”. The new two-storey spot resides in a 1920s art deco conservation building — formerly a garage for vehicles — in the Unesco World Heritage Site, which means plants, trees and the like are all-encompassing. The Garage offers two dining concepts, Botanico and Bee’s Knees.

The latter is a laidback bistro, while the former, located on level two and helmed by Spanish-born chef Antonio Oviedo, is excellent for weddings or events.

Botanico is able to accommodate 160 guests, including 40 seats at its outdoor deck, which sets the right romantic mood for couples who want to make their declaration of love under a majestic green canopy. Chef Oviedo’s cuisine for the restaurant is inspired by the natural cycles of the year, as well as bistronomy, a culinary movement that is characterised by a bolder, more radical touch to traditional French cuisine.
