The pandemic has taken its toll on many sectors, including the event industry with an inevitable blow to caterers.
Thankfully, many have pivoted, opting to adapt their business models to the evolving restrictions. Now that intimate-sized weddings and small-capacity events are allowed to resume in Phase 2, catering businesses are seeing more demand. You can do your part to support them by ordering takeaway menus or platters and spreads for private (and responsibly held) events at home.
Luxe Catering
Luxe Catering (pictured above) lives up to its name with its combination of premium cuisine and warm, efficient service. Aside from cocktail canapés, it also specialises in buffet reception and private dining menus complete with a sommelier for wine pairings. But with the current limitations, Luxe Catering has released a host of initiatives for you to dine well at home. Its e-commerce platform features a range of menus such as Zoom tea boxes for individuals, brunch social pack with truffle scrambled eggs and gold dusted rocher brownies, and family social packs with salads and mains. For small events at home, the individual grazing boxes consist of charcuterie, cheese, crudites, crackers, and truffle honey.

Tim’s Fine Catering
Chef Tim Meijers had a formidable career before he started Tim’s Fine Catering. He began as an apprentice at one-Michelin-starred restaurant Muller, before his stints at other Michelin-starred restaurants, including Netherlands’ Oud Sluis, London’s Sketch (two Michelin Stars) in London and Auberge de l’ll in France. With a wealth of experience under his belt, he kickstarted his own catering business, weaving modern French experience with Japanese influences. Chef Tim has recently launched The Artisan Canapé Box: a collection of 12 canapés such as Boston lobster cannellonis with mushroom duxelles, baeri caviar, and salted lemon, as well as smoked duck breast with foie gras terrine. No minimum order is required for this menu, and home delivery is available. For corporate clients, the box is customisable with your own branding and logo with a minimum order of 20 sets.

Amici
Meaning friends in Italian, Amici is a boutique caterer that combines both Western and Eastern influences for its menus, which span not just the usual buffets, canapés, and dessert bar, but also buffets, bento boxes, and even a 90-minute a la carte menu. The De Classico menu is a canapé tiered set of 40 delicate bites, termed ‘art pieces’, for 10 people and with a combination of sweets and savouries.

The Foodist
If you prefer variety, The Foodist has got you covered. It works with various F&B partners, including New Ubin Seafood, Salted & Hung, and All Things Delicious, so you can easily cater to your guests’ dietary preferences. These can also be presented via set-ups according to your chosen theme, with complementary platter designs, tones, and floral arrangements. The Foodist also offers lacquer bento boxes for corporate meetings, and your standard afternoon tea and canapés gourmet canapés, cheeseboards, and local artisanal pastries (kuehs). Halal options are available too.
