Think of it this way: You’ve never had a Mother’s Day like this before. If you’re currently at home with Mum and the rest of the family, order a special meal delivery, a few cocktails or wines, and make it a meaningful one. But if you’re spending this circuit breaker alone, gift her a meal and share the feast over a Zoom call. Bring ‘lumo’ (meaning light in Esperanto) to this special day with a takeaway or delivery meal from Lumo restaurant. These orders are valid at an additional 30 percent discount, and, from 4 to 10 May, come with a complimentary bottle of prosecco above $180.
The menu ranges from bar snacks and sides, to mains such as homemade beef balls with tomato confit and wood-fire grilled meats such as New Zealand Angus Ribeye. End the meal with classic apple pie, or a burnt cheese cake, available as a slice or a whole 1.5kg cake.
Finally, toast to the occasion with the coconut and coffee-infused Palm Tree Tonic, or the Stevie J, which combines notes of baked apple and a savoury finish with a classic Manhattan.

Treat the most important woman of the house to a meal she won’t forget. Min Jiang and Min Jiang at Dempsey are both offering takeaways and deliveries for its special six-course menus ($83.50 nett per person with minimum two pax), available from 1 to 3 May and from 9 to 10 May 2020. Min Jiang’s menu includes the classic platter comprising deep-fried prawns coated with butter milk, chilled mini abalone with sweet and spicy pineapple sauce, and more. It also includes favourites such as stir-fried Ibérico pork with assorted mushrooms and asparagus, and stir-fried Min Jiang noodles with prawns and scallops. No celebration is complete without cake. Order the D24 Mousse cake ($69.70 nett), Mao Shan Wang Mousse cake ($62 nett), or the Mama’s Day Sweet Surprise Box ($48 nett), made up of treats such as vanilla mascarpone mille-feuille, passionfruit macarons, and chocolate caramel tarts. These special rates are available only with takeaway orders of the Mother’s Day set menus from Min Jiang.
While these desserts aren’t available at the Dempsey outlet, a delicious menu still awaits with a quintet platter of bite-sized delights, braised pork in Wuxi style, deep-fried sea perch with minced garlic and Sichuan chilli, and braised Mee Pok with eggplant and minced meat in Min Jiang XO chilli sauce.

For Mother’s Day, Italian restaurant Buona Terra has prepared a special set menu ($98 per pax, minimum two persons), with the following dishes: Cuttlefish salad, char-grilled scampi, Casoncelli ‘Ravioli’ with Taleggio cheese and Porcini mushroom chicken casserole with herbs, capers and potato, as well as a Torta Ricotta cheese and pear. In honour of the day, Lombardy-born Chef Denis Lucchi is offering a complimentary house-made nougat for women. This is inspired by the Italian tradition of ‘mammas’ gift ing this treat to their children on special occasions.
Takeaways are available via drive-thru, while deliveries are applicable for orders above $100.

Since you can’t take mum out for afternoon tea, why not bring afternoon tea to her. Tablescape’s set menu features the classic array of sweet treats, finger sandwiches and choice of coffee or tea at $58 nett.
The sweets include caramelised apple shell tart with rosemary meringue, alongside cakes and candy. SPRMRKT has DIY meal kits for Mother’s Day. Three options are available ($165+ with cookware or $98+ without) and preparation steps are simple and minimal. You only need to combine the provided ingredients in the enamel cookware provided and pop it onto the stove or in the oven. The kit comes complete with a kimchi dip with Flaxseed Crackers, bread rolls, and house-made chicken fingers and spaghetti pomodoro. Each kit is good for two to three adults, and two children.
The options are as follows: Seafood bouillabaisse with baby potatoes with Reiss Aromapot; salt baked whole seabream, with crab meat stuffing and lemon beurre blanc, with Falcon bake tray; and a baked truffle chicken, with butternut, sliced truffles & porcini sauce, with Falcon bake tray.

There are four options fit for a family, each inclusive of three antipasti: Pizza dough foccacia and house-made ciabatta, marinated olives, and Cicheti chopped salad; a margherita pizza; two desserts of a crack pie and tiramisu.
Uno is for a family that wants a little bit of everything, and that includes spaghetti, grilled half chicken, and side dishes. Duo caters to those who love meats with braised beef brisket, and brisket meatballs on the menu. Tre is for the family who desires something different. Two power players in the dining scene are joining forces for Mother’s Day. The two-Michelin-starred restaurants, the French Saint Pierre and Japanese Shoukouwa, have created an exclusive bento box. Comprising of five courses, it marries the best of both cuisines, tied together with premium produce. The celebratory meal begins with Saint Pierre’s Royal Belgian Oscietra Caviar with bonito and cream. What follows are two dishes by Shoukouwa featuring Carabinero prawn with Japanese spring vegetables and oba; and abalone with awabi, ikura and soy. Main dishes come from Saint Pierre’s starring the Western Australia Marron with Pertuis white asparagus and dulse; and Omi beef with leek and beetroot. A chocolate cake and petit fours come with the bento box.

Mandarin Oriental’s Mother’s Day special features a five-course family-style meal that begins with appetisers of a seafood platter with Maine lobster, prawn, snow crab and king crab; caesar salad; tuna tataki salad; and European cheeses and cold cuts. the rest of the feast includes forest mushroom soup with herb croutons, as well as spaghetti with king prawn and mains such as Angus beef sirloin or Australian lamb rack. The meal ends with an assortment of desserts including the raspberry Saint Honoré.

The meal is meant for sharing and features fish maw soup; braised pork belly ‘Kong Bak Pau’; steamed barramundi with spicy Nyonya sauce; wok-fried broccoli with garlic oil, steamed jasmine rice, and a slice of lychee rose raspberry cake.
