The terrace of Bob’s Bar at Capella Singapore in Sentosa was transformed into a private tropical paradise in November for Kris Wiluan’s 70th birthday bash, attended by dear friends and family. The menu, thoughtfully created by The Naked Finn’s Tan Ken Loon and Capella’s chefs Julienne Lea Rocca and Bastien Charles Jarry, paid homage to Kris’ heritage with unique touches such a buah keluak sauce for the beef and Indonesian desserts, as well as specially sourced produce such as French lobsters, Miyazaki beef and Mozambique gamba carabinero.

Guests sipped on fine wines and bubbly and were entertained by Angeline Carew-Jones, Richard and Mike Wiluan’s rendition of a medley of songs including their father’s favourite Indonesian song, while poignant moments came from heartfelt speeches by Kris’ wife Elizabeth and long-time friend Iqbal Jumabhoy, among others.
