According to Kenneth, who has helped create successful campaigns for the likes of McDonald’s, Samsung, Tiger Beer and Lego: “The world needs more ideas and fewer ads.” With 13 years’ experience as a copywriter and creative at a few top international advertising agencies, he sees himself as a brand whisperer, helping companies connect and communicate with their target audience.
He founded marketing agency, Pencil Sword, in 2017 and along with his dynamic team, they’ve taken it upon themselves to fight the good fight for brands big and small. “Far too many local businesses and marketers are focused on short-term gains. I’m glad to have taken our clients beyond ‘advertising and selling’, and into the world of effective engagement, value creation and community building. Instead, they become evangelists who spread the good word about their brands. We’ve done this for a number of local and multinational names, and are raring to do even more.”
While Kenneth sees the current pandemic as a game changer that has made a digital-first approach necessary for many businesses, it has made strategic creativity more important than ever. Also, with the paradigm change that the global health crisis has triggered, he wants to embark on an initiative to educate and advise business owners who might lack the know-how by offering real help with no strings attached. “A community that works hand in hand is the one that grows from strength to strength. I hope that our humanness will catch up with our advancements in various fields.”
