Prior to joining the family business, Justin, an architecture major from the University of California, Berkeley, was planning and designing retail spaces for brands like Apple, Starbucks and Levi’s in the US. “That was an experience that launched my passion for exploring the intersection of how design and business can partner to bring concepts to life.”
Now as the Group Deputy CEO of Arcc Holdings, he oversees the planning and organisational development of the group, while also leading the day-to-day operations of its portfolio brands, Arcc Spaces, a shared workspace brand; The Co., a co-working brand in Southeast Asia; and The City Beijing, a private members club.
Since launching his first flexible workplace concept in Shanghai in 2006 – way ahead of the co-working trend, he has since opened shared workspaces in over 20 locations across Asia including Singapore. Early next year, he will start his first hotel brand, Else, in Kuala Lumpur. With just 49 rooms and two new-to-market F&B projects, it is set to be an intimate yet dynamic experience for global citizens. “Our aspiration is to make the project an iconic presence in a market that is often overlooked and underappreciated, then take the brand more widely across the region.”
