Beauty has always been in Shinji’s blood. After dabbling in the finance, insurance and medical fields in New York, London and Tokyo, he joined his family business, which owns several distributorships for international health and beauty brands. His company RE:TERRA, which he co-owns, also created RE:ERTH, a skincare brand that fuses the Japanese Zen way of life with cutting-edge technology and proprietary ingredients.
Buoyed by positive reception in Singapore, Shinji is now expanding the brand to the US. “My vision for RE:ERTH is for people to feel confident with their skin,” he quips. He certainly has his hands full; he’s also responsible for international expansion and strategy at Turmeron International, and handles business development at Veritas.
As someone who spends more than half a year travelling, he’s no stranger to global interconnectivity. “We will be coming into closer contact with people with different backgrounds, beliefs and cultures. I hope that we become more understanding and accepting of all the differences we humans have.”
