As president and co-founder of the Frontier Group, Ted Fang oversees the strategic direction of one of the biggest mid-market hotel chains in China today. Founded in 2003, it holds the master franchise for American hotel chain Days Inn in Greater China, had 45 hotels up and running by mid-2013 and has more than 130 building projects across 76 mainland cities. Fang and Days Inn clinched two prestigious awards at the eighth Asia Brand Awards in Hong Kong in 2013: the Top 10 (Industry) Most Investment Value Brand in China Award; and the Top 10 (Industry) Innovation Personality in China award. Fang, who started his career in oil-trading in 1992, is also founder and CEO of Tera Capital, a private investment management company that invests in public equities and hospitality-related businesses and real estate. Outside work, he is a keen musician on the keyboard and guitar. Last year, he rounded up a group of musicians to play at the Starlight Carnival, a fundraiser for the Prestige-Yellow Ribbon Children's Fund.
