Shoppers can finally ogle the new Ferrari Portofino at close proximity for hours on end. The razor-edged and aggressive-looking car is on display during the Ferarri Popup Singapore at the ION Orchard Atrium, from now till May 13, 2018.
Launched last month through a private unveiling, the drop-top car is sure to make jaws drop again as it sits along the popular, and highly public, shopping belt of Singapore. Quite obviously having the Ferrari California T as its predecessor, the Portofino has been groomed from the outset as a more attractive convertible. Named after the striking Italian town in the Riviera, the superbly proportioned vehicle wants to be known as “a symbol of scenic beauty”. Its retractable roof is so well integrated that the vehicle looks fantastically ferocious, regardless of when the top is up or down.
But what about inner beauty and all that jazz? Well, the Portofino comes with a great heart. Its 3.9-litre V8 turbo produces 759Nm and 592bhp – almost 40 more than the California. It’s faster too: 0-100km/h in mere 3.5 seconds, whereas max speed is raised to 320.
Still, the Portofino has been marked “the everyday Ferrari”, designed for daily driving. Interior comforts include 18-way-adjustable slim front chairs, a new air-conditioning system, leather-dressed steering wheel with switchgear and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen.
Besides the Portofino, another new Prancing Horse model is also up for scrutiny: the Ferrari GTC4Lusso, a powerful yet practical four-seater. The 6.3-litre V12-fitted GTC4Lusso’s credentials seem even more impressive than the Portofino, thanks to a power boost that increases max output to a boastful 680bhp.
