With more automobile and motor vehicle manufacturers jumping on the electrification bandwagon in recent years, it has never been easier to find eco-friendly modes of transportation. One of the latest entrants to the electric vehicle scene is Newron Motors’ new EV-1 wooden motorcycle, which packages sustainability in an ultra-chic façade. It is fully customisable and retails for approximately €60,000 (S$93,800). Newron Motors is currently taking pre-orders with a deposit.
The French startup’s new electric bike is powered on a lithium-ion battery that charges to 80 percent in a mere 40 minutes when plugged into a fast charge station. On a full charge, the driver can travel up to 300 km in the city or roughly 220 km on the highway. In addition, you will be able to choose from a bevy of wood finishes including oak, cedar, white ash, and ebony. The EV-1 can go from 0 to 100 km in three seconds and reach a top speed of 220 km per hour.
The design of the Newron EV-1 wooden motorcycle is unique in that it shows off the exposed battery at the centre. As a result, you will be able to monitor the battery level at all times, even whilst you play with the additional settings that can be accessed through the Newron app.
Like everything you’ve heard so far? You’ll have to act fast, as there are currently only 12 units made available to order with more to come in 2021. More details here.
