Based on an exhibition concept that has travelled to cities including Hong Kong, Paris and Geneva, Officine Panerai’s The Face of Time exhibition was launched on Wednesday night at the ION Orchard atrium. Less steeped in history as compared to its international counterparts, this showcase instead presents an opportunity for watch enthusiasts to discover the brand’s savoir faire in watchmaking and rich design heritage through its comprehensive displays.
Named after its classic dial design that has remained unchanged since 1936, the exhibition features a larger-than-life installation of the Italian manufacture’s signature dial on a raised platform in the centre of the showcase.
Glass cases showing off both Panerai’s iconic timepieces as well as 2014 novelties flank both sides of this giant dial. And for the first time, the brand is categorising its pieces according their respective cases — namely Radiomir, Radiomir 1940, Luminor 1950 and Luminor — instead of grouping them based on their movements. Other highlights of the week-long affair include a special display detailing the production process of the manufacture’s Luminor case in ceramic and live watchmaking demonstrations conducted at the event space.
Officine Panerai’s The Face of Time exhibition is located at ION Orchard Atrium and will be open till July 1 from 10:30am to 9:00pm daily
