Officially launched at SIHH 2018 in Geneva, the Montblanc 1858 collection has five new watches to show for, including the much-loved 1858 Geosphere and its 1,858-piece limited-edition special with bronze case.

The 1858 pieces pay homage to the spectacular heritage of the 160-year-old Minerva movements within the brand’s collection. The collection also sees a revival of 1920s and 1930s mountaineering and exploration pocket watches and chronographs, with a contemporary-vintage twist for the 21st century, no less.

In Singapore last month, Montblanc SEA paid tribute to this “Spirit Of Mountain Exploration” by launching the new collection in Singapore with an outdoorsy-themed event held at Ion Sky. Guests were taken via lifts decked with spectacular graphics to “well above the clouds” and “hiked” up gravel-laden walkways to the immersive space. They were greeted by a Mont Blanc-shaped ice sculpture, which is the centrepiece of the bar, as well as experiential stations manned by watchmaker Julien Mirabel, where they learnt more about the Minerva movements plus were given the opportunity to interact with the watches from the collection.
