Luxury menswear label Brioni has appointed actor Brad Pitt as its new global brand ambassador. Having called on the talents of Anthony Hopkins and Samuel L. Jackson in previous years, the Italian fashion house has often looked to Hollywood for its muse. Its latest campaign with Pitt will depict him wearing suits and other Brioni creations in a series of black and white photographs.
The brand broke the news on Instagram earlier this week, along with a red-carpet snapshot of Brad Pitt. Not surprisingly, the picture in question, which was taken on the occasion of the last Cannes Film Festival in May, shows the hero of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood wearing a bespoke tuxedo and bow tie by Brioni.
Brioni, which describes Brad Pitt as a “film and style icon,” will celebrate its 75th anniversary early next year. To mark the occasion and present its 2020 autumn-winter collection, the brand is planning to organise a special event at the Pitti Uomo fashion event in Florence, Italy on January 7.
Before Pitt’s appointment, Matt Dillon was the most recent Hollywood actor to have posed for Brioni, a distinction that had also been enjoyed by luminaries such as Armie Hammer, Pierce Brosnan and Harvey Keitel.
