Co-designed by Dior’s creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, and Victoire de Castellane, creative director of Dior Fine Jewellery, the Dior Gem Bag Clutch was born from the union of leather goods and jewellery savoir faire.
The opulent emerald satin minaudière features a central motif of a bejewelled rose – Christian Dior’s favourite bloom – flaunting diamonds and tsavorites drawn from the Rose Dior Bagatelle jewellery collection. The name of the collection is taken from the rose garden in the Parc de Bagatelle in Paris, where 1,200 different varieties bloom.
The clutch is meticulously assembled by hand in the Dior ateliers with techniques from high jewellery employed to set the jewelled corolla. The result of unique jeweller know-how, the “two-bead” setting almost completely masks the gold between the stones and enhances their shine.
