Fendi’s garden-inspired Spring/Summer 2020 menswear collection has some phenomenal savoir faire for the bags.
Made of Selleria Cuoio Romano leather with handmade seams on the outside, the two-compartment Peekaboo is elevated with a leather partition embossed with the signature FF logo pattern that is hot-stamped all over the divider.
Needless to say, the precious intarsia panel fronting the bag (fits a 16-inch MacBook Pro and more) is made to impress. Composed of mink and leather, the panel requires several steps to craft, starting from the underlying “net” of leather. Each rhombus piece is etched out by hand, before the entire panel is thickened with an additional layer.
Next, different mink layers are assembled for the prescribed size, then hand-cut and sewn together according to the specific design.
Finally, with the mink layer placed on top of the leather panel, the materials are applied and sewn one by one onto each rhombus.
