It’s race-day season and we are stoked about Ascot Racecourse’s recent announcement, a Spring/Summer 2019 collection in partnership with womenswear retailer Karen Millen. This is the second year in a row that the two brands have come together over what is, without a doubt, one of the most anticipated event on the social calendar.

“The success of the partnership is built on a mutual understanding of the importance of quality and luxury. Our Atelier ethos is at the core of the brand and we see Ascot Racecourse as the perfect partner to bring our summer occasion wear to life,” said Beth Butterwick, CEO at Karen Millen, in an official release.
The co-branded creations draw inspiration from the British racecourse’s flagship meeting, Royal Ascot, to be held in June this year. For the uninitiated, there are strict rules and regulations around Ascot that make dressing up correctly for the occasion a potential dilemma. With this collection, Ascot and Karen Millen have got you covered, literally — we’re talking thick shoulder straps and modest hem lengths.
The creations, designed specifically for the summer racing season and social calendar, feature dresses and jumpsuits that take pride in soft sophistication, flowy fabrics and a soothing colour scheme. Basically, it incorporates everything the British luxury event stands for — elegance, style and timelessness.

Since the fashion house has made sure the occasion-wear maxis and figure-flattering midi dresses adhere to the season’s key trends, there are plenty of summery painterly florals and cute polka-dot patterns to choose from that are especially suitable for the climate in Singapore and can be worn all year round. The demure and stylish designs that boast cinched waists, pleating and romantic ruffles are also flattering for women, regardless of their body type. The colour palette in blush pink, soft pastels and crisp white with bursts of coral, hibiscus red and sky blue will make you look a million dollars and brimming with confidence.
What makes the collection extra special is that each print has been hand-painted at Karen Millen’s in-house atelier in London and printed at Lake Como, Italy. Even the brand’s jaw-dropping mod interpretation of the leopard print lace gets the hand-crafted treatment.
The collection is available at Karen Millen stores in ION Orchard and Paragon.
