Burberry is taking its Spring/Summer 2021 collection to the British outdoors in a live physical presentation, which will be streamed live on September 17 at 1pm BST or 8pm SGT.
In line with its previous two runway shows, the upcoming installation will be certified carbon neutral, ensuring measures are taken to reduce the presentation’s environmental impact, with any remaining emissions will be offset through Burberry’s Regeneration Fund.
Exploration and nature have always been in Burberry’s DNA. After all, the brand began with gabardine, a weatherproof fabric invented by founder Thomas Burberry to enable pioneers to explore the outside world and journey into the unknown. It seems apt in these unprecedented times, too, to revisit these themes as Covid-19 casts a spotlight on the things we took for granted. “As humans, we have always had a deep affinity to nature,” says Creative Director Riccardo Tisci. “We have had to respect and rely upon its power for our very existence, whilst marvelling and revelling in its extraordinary beauty. Especially recently, we have all yearned to reconnect again and for this show, I wanted to celebrate these feelings by bringing our community together in a creative experience that takes place within the beautiful, natural landscape of Britain.”
