What happens when a 22-year-old Singaporean swimming champion partners with a 94-year-old German luxury fashion brand? Well, there’s this spirited five-piece collection consisting of a polo shirt, t-shirt, shorts, bag and towel — all the things you really need for a splashing good time. The limited-edition Hugo Boss X Joseph Schooling capsule collection is exclusive to Singapore and will be available from May 25, 2018, onwards.

With only 100 sets up for grabs, each comprising the five items, it also comes with postcards signed by Joseph Schooling himself. But that’s not the only heartwarming part. Hugo Boss has committed to a charitable pledge, whereby 15 percent of the proceeds from the collection will benefit the Schooling Sports Academy, which aims to support aspiring athletes in Singapore and help develop their sporting ardors.

Schooling said, “I am extremely proud to be collaborating with such a respected brand in the fashion industry.”

Throughout the collection, bold stripes plus yellow and navy blue hues dominate. The colour theme is an apparent nod to elements evocative of the Olympic champion’s great achievement: Gold and water. Yet, the butterfly specialist especially endorses the colours of blue and yellow used in the capsule collection because it is also the colours of his alma mater, the Anglo-Chinese School.
