The store, which officially opened its doors early last December, is the only one in Singapore solely dedicated to Gucci’s watches and jewellery pieces. It offers the Italian brand’s beloved timepiece collections like G-Timeless, Gucci Dive, G-Frame and Vintage Web. The Grip, Gucci’s new, skater-inspired watch collection, is also on display.
Gucci’s Raffles City boutique features both fine jewellery and silver jewellery designs as well. Among them are the emblematic necklaces and earrings from Gucci’s Lion Head collection, the minimalist Icon rings and accessories from the Le Marché des Merveilles collection, which features the brand’s feline motif. True to Gucci’s baroque aesthetic, the new store boasts a stunning interior design. It is lined with Calacatta Oro marble panels and a cherry red velvet carpet. The counters, inspired by classic travel trunks, feature leather finishes and studded edges. Gucci’s watches and jewellery pieces are displayed lavishly on velvet cushions and studded velvet pads.
The new boutique follows Gucci’s official foray into the world of high jewellery last year, when the brand opened its first store on Place Vendôme, Paris. The brand’s first high jewellery collection, Hortus Deliciarum, was an extension of creative director Alessandro Michele’s ornate and whimsical vision for the Italian house. Like Gucci’s runway collections, Hortus Deliciarum featured the brand’s iconic motifs — think lions, tigers and snakes — and a wealth of colours in the form of precious stones like opals, garnets and tourmalines.
