A prominent patron of films, Swiss luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre celebrates its eighth year partnership with Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) by unveiling a limited-edition, crimson-coloured creation as part of its Rendez-Vous Night & Day collection.
Launched six years ago, at the 15th edition of SIFF, the Rendez-Vous collection first made headlines for its femininity and graceful silhouette. For this year, the Rendez-Vous Night & Day Medium Tribute to Cinema, created for this milestone anniversary of association with the world of motion picture and celebrities, is dressed in red and pink-gold. Limited to only 100 pieces, the striking watch pays homage to star-studded soirees and red carpet events.

Accented in crimson, from both its iconic function disc at six o’clock and on its glistening alligator-leather strap, the red also appears on the winding crown in the guise of a garnet cabochon, evoking the go-to sensual hue typically found on the lips of film stars.
While it is truly an ode to film, the watch also showcases the 185-year-old brand’s longstanding expertise and perpetually renewed creativity. Fitted with the automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 898A/1, the watch reveals a day/night indicator against a new “starry night” backdrop. A five-pointed star replaces the moon, which is the traditionally featured icon on the models of this line. This level of detail is clearly a tribute to the art of movie-making and its stars. Dazzles continue with brilliant-cut diamonds set unto the bezel, which underscores the silvered guilloché-adorned face of this exquisitely feminine watch.
The model is available in a diameter of 34mm. The oscillating weight and exceptional finishes may be admired through the sapphire crystal case-back — like watching a major motion picture unfold in itself. Jaeger-LeCoultre continues to share value and vision with the film industry, saying: “Time may fly but true classics never fade. Creativity is what makes it all live on.”
