A rebel against the ostentatious styles of its time, it’s drawn from the bones decorating the walls of the Capuchin Crypt in Rome, which she saw — and secretly stole — as a child. She was also inspired by Gaudi architecture in Barcelona.
Specifically crafted for the right and left wrists, the Bone cuff is considered to be one of Peretti’s most revolutionary designs, revered its refined austerity and ergonomic structure that contours to the shape of each wrist like a bespoke armour. In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Tiffany & Co. and Elsa Peretti have teamed up with Dover Street Market (DSM) for five limited edition variants.
The hero of The DSM Edit collection is the Snowflake Obsidian Bone cuff in sterling silver, exclusive to Dover Street Market Singapore and the DSMS E-shop. The voluptuous gray-black volcanic glass, speckled with white snowflake-like patterns, is carved in Peretti’s favourite teardrop shape — a symbol of emotion — by artisans who have worked with the designer for decades. Unsurprisingly, the other special editions are in glossy black, and the original large cuff is now available in sterling silver (see featured image above). These can also be purchased at Tiffany & Co. stores in Singapore.
In case you’re wondering if The DSM Edit Bone cuffs come in Tiffany blue boxes, the answer is yes — though they’ll be wrapped with black ribbons to highlight this edgy collaboration.
