What does Jimmy Choo and Off-White™ have in common? Little it seems, until now.

Princess Diana was one of the first Jimmy Choo fans and 20 years later, the beloved Princess of Wales is the muse behind creative director Virgil Abloh’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection. Where we arrive at the second connnection: The shoes in his collection were created by none other than Jimmy Choo.

Known for elegant luxury footwear that adorned famous feet including Michelle Obama, Emma Stone, and Kendall Jenner, the London-based house seems like an unlikely partner for the elevated streetwear label.

But the mismatch has rewarded both brands fresh buzz. Unveiled during Paris Fashion Week, Princess Diana’s shoe lasts have been given cool updates with bizarre twists, without compromising on quality, functional shoes. They’ll be sold in exclusive packaging, which translates to exciting designs are both wearable and collectable — this marks the luxury accessories brand’s first time in collaborating on a commercial shoe collection with a ready-to-wear designer.

“To collaborate with a brand like Off-White™ allows Jimmy Choo to explore a new avenue and take part in a different conversation,” explains Sandra Choi, Jimmy Choo’s creative director.

“I love to mix it up by getting together with a different creative mind identifying our synergies and combining our DNA to create a beautiful and surprising collection with unexpected links to the roots of our brand.”
