For over 40 years, the prestigious Lord’s Tailor has upheld its dedication to craftsmanship as the first Malaysian luxury menswear to offer a unique blend of world class bespoke made-to-measure and ready-made suits, dressing up the likes of the late legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, and film director and actor Mel Gibson.
This year, Lord’s Tailor broke new grounds with the launch of Lord’s 1974, an entry-level menswear luxury label that specialises in both men’s formal wear and casual wear. With a vision to proliferate its fine craftsmanship that is best in quality and style, each season will feature a contemporary approach while retaining a classic series pervaded with timeless elegance.
The Lord’s 1974 ready-to-wear label is made in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, utilising the finest European fabrics sourced from global renowned mills, each product uncompromised in quality and aesthetics – a key value the brand has upheld since its humble days in the 90sqm shop at Jalan Alor.
In conjunction with the opening of the Lord’s 1974 flagship store in The Gardens Mall, the brand has introduced the new “Made in Italy” collection, the Italian Collezione. Customers can expect 100% made in Italy suits, jackets and pants from the collection, using some of the best raw materials from Italian fabric mills such as Ermenegildo Zegna.
Not only that, the Lord’s 1974 Italian Collezione also hosts leather goods, accessories and shoes specially designed and curated for the fashion conscious and cosmopolitan men out there, who appreciate exquisite quality to go with their high achievements.
Lord’s 1974 features a new premium made-to-measure service line, providing an unrivalled experience of personally tailored elegance, while offering customers the complete suiting experience that is a cross between a bespoke and a ready-to-wear suit.
One of the key values of Lord’s 1974 is to craft a suit that not only looks great but also fits the gentleman well, and is of absolute comfort to wear; this boils down to the cut, the key aspect of a perfect suit.
The made-to-measure program aims to blend expert tailoring with the distinct needs of the individual, whereby customers are measured and fitted with a style and fit that is closest to their body shape and size, before going through the full customisation benefits of selecting their own choice of suit details, such as the choice of lapels and vents, fabric, lining and buttons – all hand selected by the Lord’s 1974 designers, to ensure that the final result is a custom suit that is individually handcrafted the same way our Bespoke suits are made.
