Happy birthday to the Peekaboo! One of the icons in the Fendi family of bags marks it’s 10th anniversary, and what better way to mark the milestone than with three generations of Fendi women? “The Peekaboo is my baby. It’s a creature that belongs to me,” muses Silvia Venturini Fendi.
The creative director of accessories and her daughters, Delfina Delettrez Fendi and Leonetta Luciano Fendi, share their relationships with the emblematic tote in a special video. “The Peekaboo is precious like a piece of jewelry, because it can be passed on from generation to generation”, opines jewellery designer Delfina Delettrez Fendi, while younger sister Leonetta Luciano Fendi thinks the Peekaboo is“the Peekaboo bag is versatile, because it represents my different moods. It’s also full of surprises – because on one side you can put all the things people can see, while on the other side I usually put things people cannot see – and, obviously, timeless.”
It’s also interesting to note that the shoot with Silvia took place in Rome at Fendi Headquarters in Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, which succinctly captures the creative energy of the studio. Her daughters’ interviews were filmed in Palazzo Fendi as well as in places around Rome that are dear to the house, a beautiful highlight of Fendi’s personal bond with the city.
