As the first watch to be designed by eponymous founder Michel Parmigiani, the Toric collection holds a unique spot in the Parmigiani universe. This year, the Toric Chronometre enjoys a facelift, with a redesigned case that is more ergonomic on the wrist, and an enlarged crown. The double gadroons and hand knurled features remain, giving the watch its unmistakable old-world glamour. Offered with a black opaline or white grained dial, the self-winding and COSC-certified PF331 proprietary calibre is endowed with a 55-hour power reserve and is available in white or red gold.
In the Tonda line, the Tonda Metrographe has also been redesigned to increase dial legibility. With the addition of a tachometer and revised counter proportions, the chronograph can now be read more effectively. Other aesthetic changes include the repositioning of the date aperture, the addition of a red “1” to the date wheel, domed hands and a restyled figure “8” motif connecting the counters at 6 and 9 o’clock. Offered with a black or white dial, the former is paired with rose gold accents while the latter comes with blued hands. A subtle hand-executed snailed decoration around the sub dials and main dial offers an interesting depth of effect. The watch is powered by the self-winding P315 calibre fitted with an additional chronograph module.
The Tonda 1950 family is joined by two elegant new pieces: Tonda 1950 Set Galaxy, with an iridescent aventurine glass dial, and Tonda 1950 Météorite, with a white meteorite dial. The former is offered in a 39mm rose gold case adorned with 84 diamonds, housing a PF702 engine that drives the hour and minute hands; while the Tonda 1950 Météorite is the third of a series of meteorite dials revealed by the brand since 2015. Previously offered in blue and black, it is now available in white, replete with recognisable Widmanstätten patterns (geometrical striations found in iron meteorites). Presented in a 39mm titanium case, the watch is powered by the PF 702 proprietary self-winding calibre that comes with an additional small seconds function.
