The Starfleet Explorer is launched as three limited editions of 99 pieces each in blue, green and red.
Six years after the launch of the Starfleet Machine, the first clock co-created by MB&F and L’Epée 1839 – the last remaining Swiss manufacture specialising in high-end table clocks – the Starfleet Explorer returns in a more compact size and enhanced with bright colours.
Besides displaying the hours and minutes, the out-of-this-world intergalactic spaceship cum table clock also features an animation in which three spacecrafts orbit the mothership. Placed in the heart of the actual Starfleet movement, they are lined up along the same axis around which they revolve at a rate of one full turn every five minutes.
Boasting an impressive eight-day power reserve, the futuristic masterpiece’s movement is placed horizontally, but its escapement is vertically positioned. The exquisitely finished stainless stain or palladium-treated brass components (with the exception of the 11 jewels) are designed and manufactured in the L’Epee 1839 Swiss atelier. Not only can the futuristic timekeeper rest on both ends of its vertical landing gear, it can also lean sideways to offer a different view of the intergalactic horological station.
Exclusively available at The Hour Glass.
