The timepiece was inspired by the sun at its zenith.
Swiss luxury watchmaker Bovet introduces the Sunshine Collection with its first timepiece – the Récital 26 Brainstorm Chapter Two with a magnificent yellow dial. The manufacture’s owner and managing director, Pascal Raffy, drew inspiration for the vivid citron-inspired dial while watching the sun at its zenith from the castle of Bovet located in Môtiers, Switzerland. Citing nature as a muse, Raffy reinterpreted the positive energy and happiness he felt from the sun to create the unique collection. Symbolic of happiness, optimism, enlightenment and creativity, the luminous hue is also significant in cultural history as yellow ochre pigment was one of the first colours used in art.
A limited-edition of just seven pieces, the dramatic timepiece is available in fully hand-engraved movements housed in a crafted 47.8mm monoblock sapphire dimier (or writing desk) case with titanium lugs and caseback. It features an eye-catching yellow dome-shaped dial, hand-coated by Bovet artisans with a green Super-LumiNova (SLN) that imparts a powder finishing to its surface. Wearers will notice that the dial turns into a vibrant green at dusk as the SLN absorbs light from the sun in the day. Not only does the green enhance readability at night, it adds an unexpected new dial to this spectacular creation.
The Récital 26 Brainstorm Chapter Two showcases the patented double-face flying tourbillon and radial guidance system, a three-dimensional moonphase, and a patented three-dimensional V-shaped needle that allows the owner to display the time zone of his choice. Along with the dome, this innovative combination imagined by Raffy allows for an intuitive universal time function, which allows each of the 24 time zones to be read simultaneously.
Driving the showpiece is the hand-wound movement, 17DM06-DT, with an impressive power reserve of five days. A rubber strap in a bright sunshine yellow with a folding buckle in white gold completes the visually arresting watch.
