Our days may be somber and uncertain right now, but it’s hardly holding us back from looking forward to a brighter future. You might want to bookmark this for when the outbreak blows over. From 1 April to 30 June, Chantecaille is partnering with InterContinental Singapore for afternoon tea with dainty, bite-sized delights inspired by the delicate Rose de Mai, a rare species of the flower that blooms for only three weeks in Grasse, France. The signature flower of the French beauty brand is also the muse of its eponymous collection.
The three-tiered tray features a combination of picture-perfect sweets, and savouries. Whet your appetite with rose macarons and pralines, sakura mousse with peach jelly, a strawberry and orange blossom tart, and a maple rosella lamington with lemon shortbread. In between bites, sip on the Singapore Heritage Tea, which couple the notes of juicy fruits with aromatic green tea.
“With food and fashion collaborations on the rise, we saw an opportunity to partner with a sustainable beauty brand for the first time, to bring out the best of our pastry craftsmanship and highlight our own commitment to sustainability.”
As for the savouries, they are meant to spotlight Chantecaille’s dedication to environmental sustainability and wildlife conservation. The selection includes prawn mousse pita with pomegranate, salmon thyme quiche and feta cheese cranberry roll, and a pleasantly fragrant peach rose jam with dried fruits and nuts, which my fellow diner describes as “eating a garden”. Scones, a quintessential afternoon tea item, are offered in two variations — classic and buttery, and rose tea blueberry — and are best eaten with dollops of clotted cream, and strawberry jam.
Complete your afternoon at the dessert station featuring ice cream, baked crumble and bread pudding, and a flute of Taittinger Brut Champagne for a truly delectable day. You’ll leave with a complimentary Chantecaille gift bag with the brand’s signature skincare range.
The collection is one to have. as each product from the Rose de Mai collection is chock-full of antioxidants and Vitamin C to boost skin radiance, moisture, and calm inflammations.
