You’ll never be short of afternoon tea in Singapore, but this fragrance-inspired exclusive is a true treat for all your senses. A collaboration between Dior Parfums and Ruinart, it takes place at The St. Regis Singapore from now until 30 November.
The afternoon tea is a celebration of the aromatics of the Joy by Dior and the Ruinart Rosé. Intensely fruity and fragrant, the latter is distinctly feminine and graced by finesse. Coloured in a pomegranate pink with subtle glimmers of orange, it makes the perfect complement for the effervescent fragrance that embodies an olfactory interpretation of light. The perfume’s scent opens with zested bergamot and mandarin before it settles into floral notes of rose grasse absolute and jasmine blend.
The tea commences with a joyous champagne sabrage, followed by a spritz of the Joy by Dior and the pouring of the Ruinart Rosé Champagne. As you settle down at your seat, a St. Regis blendmaster takes you through a range of tea blends to be prepared tableside and enjoyed with toasty warm mounds of goat’s cheese gougères.
The star of your afternoon, the two-tiered stand, is then introduced at the table and topped with sweet and savoury delights. The classic rosé bavarois sees a local twist when served alongside gula melaka cream on a raspberry tartlet; accompanying this is a strawberry eclair, and a pistachio and sakura mousse with confit kumquat with a gentle spritz of orange blossom water. Move on to the spread of savouries that includes a lobster mayonnaise soft bun sandwich with herring caviar, foie gras mousse tartlet with fig compote and mango, and a beetroot and goat cheese sandwich. No afternoon tea at The St. Regis is complete without the moreish scones — these come in an assortment. Finish on a satiating sweet note with the ruby chocolate-coated Madeleines and a picture-perfect plate of vanilla and rhubarb vacherin with lime coconut meringue, verbena parfait, and coconut jelly.
