The Formula One Singapore Grand Prix night race might be in the 12th year running, but the excitement accompanying it shows no signs of slowing down. Whether you’re a fan of motorsports or the annual trackside entertainment, it’s easy to be swept up in the hype. First thing on our list: Fuelling up for the F1 weekend with dining deals and drinks.
The world’s highest microbrewery has one of the best vantage points to bask in the F1 sights and sounds when not on the grounds. Come F1 weekend, LeVel33 has a series of promotions at its three spaces: The terrace, Dining Room and Social. Over at the terrace, free flow drinks include house-brewed beers, house wines and soft drinks from 6pm to 10pm for those with reservations, and it is inclusive of the cover charge. Indoor dining promotions are available for those who prefer the comfort of air conditioning, and wish to catch the live screening of the race action. On 21 and 22 September, this includes a dining package of a sharing menu, and a complimentary 0.3 litre glass of beer or wine.
Rev up your weekend at Zafferano on 21 and 22 September. Saturday’s affair lets you enjoy free-flow champagne brunch from 12pm to 3pm, complete with live remixes from the resident DJ. On Sunday, the restaurant has an Italian feast from 2pm to 5pm, accompanied by free-flow champagne, spumante, beer, and house red and white wines. Other highlights for both days include gratinated Hokkaido scallops in saffron bread coating, with dill and pine nuts, as well as baked potato ‘gnocchi ‘Sorrentino’ style, tomato with mozzarella cheese.
At the table, appetisers and pastas are served communal-style, but you’re free to load up on main courses, such as roasted Black Angus beef striploin and roasted seabass, at the live station, and Italian sweets over at the dessert bar.
As the sun goes down on both days, the terrace lounge lights up with electrifying views of the skyline, and drinks galore including spumante, house wines and beer, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
Nestled in the Quayside neighbourhood is New York institution Wolfgang’s Steakhouse Singapore. To help you fuel up pre-race, the restaurant has put together a decadent caviar and champagne pairing — specifically 30g of Osetra caviar and a bottle of Taittinger champagne. It’s the perfect indulgence to go with its USDA Prime Black Angus steak, that has been dried on-site at the restaurant for 28 days.
Raise a glass — or a cocktail — at Yardbird during the weekend of the race. Tipples on the menu include the Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade, a blend of American whisky with blackberries, cardamom, lemon and club soda, as well as Yardbird’s Old Fashioned with bacon-infused American whisky. Both are available as a one-for-one promotion.
Celebrate the high octane weekend 57 stories above ground. At Spago’s alfresco lounge, sink your teeth into light bites such as its signature chicken laksa spring rolls and crispy Japanese fried chicken karaage with kewpie togarashi aioli and lemon. Cocktails specially concocted for the occasion include Love You Long Time, a vodka-infused tipple, which features tangerine, Thai basil and sparkling sake, and gin-based Forbidden Kiss, which has fresh raspberries, rose elixir and lemon.
Pan Pacific Singapore is pulling out all the stops for the race crowd. From 19 to 22 September, celebratory drinks at the Atrium include the F1 Hendrick’s Twist, made with lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves infused in Hendrick’s Gin, together with ginger, pandan, and honey. Enjoy the tipples with food items such as the lemongrass crayfish skewers and homemade sausage platter, before ending with a standout treat of the Manjari Caramel Pear Entremet, which is made up of creamy mousse delicately sponged between almond dacquoise and feuilletine.
At Edge, the trackside restaurant’s brunch on 22 September is the perfect pit stop between the races, with specials like the melted Swiss raclette cheese, sous vide citrus thyme crayfish with vanilla pear puree and basil oil, and mala pepper crabs and flambéed honey pineapple with creamy jivara Valrhona. For a boozy hit, supercharge your meal with a free-flow option that includes unlimited pours of Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label Champagne or Veuve Clicquot Brut Rosé Champagne, beers, wines and selected cocktails.
